Give advice, discuss weekend plans, ask for help, & determine the gender of nouns by their meanings: alcoholic drinks and colors.
Paul has no doubt anymore that the book is gone. He thinks it was stolen. He wants to find it and calls Fritz, who knew nothing about its value. He offers to help and says maybe someone just borrowed it. He suggests a party because that would be a good opportunity for Paul to ask around. But Paul has no nerve for a party and prefers to ask everybody in the group chat. Fritz learns that Laura's profile has been deleted and Paul learns that Fritz has no idea whether he will be promoted or not. Was the book taken by mistake? Why didn't Laura come, and why did she delete her profile? Will Fritz be promoted?

Times of the day, express despair and anger & determine the gender of nouns by their meanings: times of the day/days of the week/months/seasons/points of the compass, modal verb dürfen and modal verb summary.
The next morning after the party, Paul realizes that the precious book he got from his parents is gone. They must never find out about it! The profile of his online date Laura, who didn’t show up, is also deleted. Paul is desperate. Why didn't Laura come, and why did she delete her online profile? How would his parents react if they ever found out the book is gone? Or did Paul maybe just misplace it? Where could it be?

German Stories starts from zero, and leads you to your goal in small steps
It's not difficult to create a learning story and jump to complicated grammatical structures early on, just so the author doesn't have a hard time writing. But it's very difficult to fit your writing into a well structured teaching plan, so that the student doesn't have too much trouble learning German.
We did it the hard way. Hard for us, easy for you: Luckily there's only a little bit of grammar per episode for you to learn. If you're curious about our motivations behind putting in so much effort, go to german-stories.com/the-best-way-to-learn-german

Describe and evaluate situations and objects, congratulate & gender of nouns: words with endings -ei / -schaft.
At Pauls housewarming party, the book comes up: It is a precious gift from Paul's father. His friends are skeptical about the value. They praise Paul's beautiful wallpaper - but in truth, they find it ugly. Laura doesn't come. Fritz says he had lots of tips and photos that he was able to use to find and arrest the Großkauf thieves. Maybe he'll be promoted for this. Why didn't Laura come after all? Will Fritz really get a promotion?

There is a constant, low amount of new words per episode
When writing a learning story it's easy to get carried away by an idea for a dialog. But that can result in an episode having way too many new words. That's demotivating for the learner. We counted every word and went through endless writing and re-writing sessions for every episode to make sure that didn't happen to our story. If you want know why we spent over 1 1/2 years of work before we even published our first lesson, got to german-stories.com/the-best-way-to-learn-german
